I enjoy teaching my dogs new skills and trying to figure out how to communicate with my dogs on what we need to do. It is also satisfying when they ''get it". I also enjoy spending time outdoors with our dogs and observing them as they discover something new and how they react. I take great pride that my dogs have a great recall and race to come back to me when I call them. It is for the treats and certainly not for me.
Archer, the vizsla was our first dog in 2010. Archer was energetic earning his FDJ, CD, CGN & RN. He enjoyed learning and knew how to learn.
RADAR, the wire-haired vizsla, inherited Archer's academic skills and loves to learn. RADAR has earned his CDX, RM, SDN & FTN so far. He enjoys people and other dogs equally and is always looking for an adventure, but also is patient in waiting.
Dune, the English Springer Spaniel, is a rescue and is enjoying his life in rural Ontario romping around with RADAR. Dune came to us with few dog sport skills and now has mastered rally stations as well as agility elements. He enjoys giving you the pleasure of his company.
I have taken dozens of classes over the years from experienced trainers and that knowlege has rubbed off on me to make me experimental in how I teach my dogs new skills. Finally, sharing my knowledge with others is satisfying and takes me full circle. A definite high point is when I see that dog owners and their dogs have learned a new skill, through what the dog owner understood. Perhaps we will see you in one of the SLCPC classes.
